Warmth, protection, mobility and minimum bulk: Our iconic Ortles “Heavy” down jacket is designed to be a secure, warm bastion for mountaineering, climbing and expeditions in sub-zero conditions.
Built to meet the demands of progressive mountaineers and in response to detailed feedback from our team of athletes and mountain guides, it has a highly-durable ripstop 2-layer PU-coated Powertex Extreme water-resistant shell to seal the elements out and keep you dry.
Inside, we use high quality 90/10 pure down with a fill power of 750 for enhanced thermal insulation and a soft, comfortable lining. It has a zoned 3D down box chamber construction, free motion patterning and an athletic fit to prevent hem-lift while climbing and ensure full freedom of movement. All of our down is Responsible Down Standard approved and comes from independently audited and traceable sources to help ensure that the birds are not live-plucked or force-fed.
The new hood design is fully helmet compatible yet can also be adapted by using the zippered gusset and drawcords to give a close, precise fit without a helmet. Integrated into the high collar, it has internal draft tubes both at the neck and around the face for additional storm protection. The 2-way front zip allows excellent access to your harness and belay device if worn under your jacket. At the hem, there are two cuffs to lock out cold draughts and keep your kidneys warm by sealing in warmth. Welcome to your new monster down jacket for bad conditions.
